We would consider a split role/ job share (2 posts, each 20 hours p/w) and remote working for the fundraising role.

Summary of the role(s)

We are looking for candidates able to take on 2 important role(s) in our team.

1.    Fundraiser

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser with a successful track record of building a network in the Balkans and a history of successful grant bids. With substantial experience in fundraising, bringing a lot of technical knowledge, you will be someone who is as comfortable rolling your sleeves up to write grant applications, as researching potential funders and devising strategies to generate large grants. You will meet a wide range of people in this role, so you will also be someone who loves the people side of fundraising.

To be considered for this role:

Proven expertise in sourcing income from trusts and foundations

Excellent networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships

Strong written and verbal communication that is persuasive and can present information that is clear and appropriate for different audiences

You will quickly build excellent relationships within Tek Ura and with supporters and have a strong commitment to outstanding supporter care. This is an important role, at a critical time in the life of the organisation, and we are looking for a strategic, professional, and knowledgeable person to deliver on our strategy to increase our individual giving income over the next five years.

2.    Finance Manager

We are looking for the right candidate to take on the day-to-day financial management of our growing NGO, meeting the financial obligations as set by the Albanian State and those required by Tek Ura’s donors. You will be responsible for maintaining our budget and further developing Tek Ura’s financial systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.

To be considered for this role you will be required to:

  • Manage Tek Ura’s financial policy and procedures.

  • Manage finances across Tek Ura’s projects and programmes in Tirana and Durres

  • Manage Tek Ura’s accounting system (QuickBooks)

  • Reconcile all bank transactions with expense records.

  • Preparation of budgets and financial statements to deadlines

  • Process all banking: including deposits, transfers between accounts and withdrawals

  • Manage petty cash reconciliations

  • Manage payroll, reconcile salary records and make returns as appropriate.

  • Manage salary procedures for Tek Ura in accordance with Albanian Tax Office and other statutory body requirements.

  • Process and control payment of invoices payable, pay regular bills (e.g. utilities and rent)

  • Issue receipts for all monies received and issuing invoices for intended expenses

  • Ensure security of monies and other assets held on premises and assist in the development and maintenance of an assets register.

  • Manage Tek Ura’s account on e-Albania

  • Be responsible of contractual relations (update contracts for the outsourced services, contact with suppliers)

  • Produce timely and accurate finance reports

 

Job Specification

The following job specification applies to all candidates

Essential

  • Excellent match with Tek Ura’s vision and values (both)

  • Proven track record of fundraising, leading to results (Fundraiser)

  • A relevant Masters degree (both)

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience (both)

  • Very good knowledge of National Accounting Standards, legal framework and the tax system (Finance)

  • Very good MS Office skills/ Google suite (both)

  • Fluency in English and Albanian at a B-2 to C1 level according to CEFR Framework (both)

  • Excellent communication skills (both)

  • Proficient with financial software (e.g. Quickbooks, Alfa Platinum, Financa 5) (Finance)

  • Able to travel when necessary

  • Strong experience of financial management and administrative support specifically for projects or programmes; including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and analysis (Finance)

  • Experience in working with international donors (Fundraiser, desirable for Finance)

  • A positive attitude especially towards customer service and performance management (both)

  • Using strong operational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve difficult problems within a quick timeframe.

Desirable

  • Holds a driving licence

  • Holds a professionally recognized finance qualification (e.g. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)

  • Familiar with statistical modelling (Finance)

  • Experience of training/ teaching others (both)

  • Project/programme design and management experience (both)
